**Please drive with caution and be alert of the others around you. The month of August is usually very warm in the deep South so pack plenty of water and don't forget the sunscreen. We can't wait to see you!!

Travel more than 450-miles of scenic beauty and see tons of yard sales. Get started on your journey by traveling the 93- mile Lookout Mountain Parkway route from Gadsden, Alabama, through a portion of Georgia and into Chattanooga, Tennessee for the most "scenic rural America" in the United States. The Lookout Mountain Parkway has more than 1,500 yard sale vendors alone! You will find everything from antiques, collectibles, furniture, dishwares, fresh garden produce, homemade jams and jellies, food vendors, live entertainment and so much more. Continue with the yard sale, following the U.S. 127 Corridor from Chattanooga, TN to Covington, KY for another 350 miles of yard sale bargains.  When combined, the Lookout Mountain Parkway and the 127 Corridor have had as many as 5,000 vendors lined along the 450-mile scenic yard sale route in past years and the year 2007 promises to be even bigger.

Residents of the Lookout Mountain Parkway invite you to spend some time touring the area and enjoying the hospitality of our people. Spend the night in one of our many Bed and Breakfast Inns, State Parks or other cabin rentals located along the Parkway. View scenic vistas and majestic waterfalls, see deer and cattle grazing side by side in rolling hills and farmland.  Come travel the Lookout Mountain Parkway.         "America's most Scenic Shopping Mall!!"

Directions - South to North:
Yard sale begins at the Noccalula Falls Park in Gadsden, Alabama on top of Lookout Mountain. Follow Tabor Road, across from Noccalula Falls. Stay on this road and it will become Alabama 176. Follow 176 to the Dogtown Community and stay straight through the 4-way stop. The road then becomes DeKalb County 89. Stay on 89 through communities such as Five Points, Fort Payne, Fischer, DeSoto State Park and on into Mentone, Alabama. From Mentone turn right at the caution light onto Alabama 117 and follow into Georgia where it becomes Georgia Road #48. You will stay straight a short distance before turning left at another caution light on GA 157, then left on 136, right on 189 then right on 157 again. This carries you directly in front of Rock City where you travel down Lookout Mountain and pick up TN 27 to the U.S. 127 Corridor for the remainder of the yard sale where it ends in Covington, KY. (The road winds around a little in Chattanooga as you make your way to the 127 Corridor. Follow Ochs Hwy. off of Lookout Mountain to Tennessee Ave. to Broad St. to Hwy 27 to the U.S. Hwy. 127)

Although the Yard Sale officially goes from Gadsden to Covington, feel free to jump on board anywhere in between. Lots of unique items, junk and antiques await you from one end to the other and all points in-between. If you choose to follow the route from North to South, simply reverse the directions above.  Again, the Chattanooga area gets a little confusing, so we have included the following additional directions if you are traveling North to South to help you get from US 127 up onto the Lookout Mountain Parkway:

Coming down off Signal Mountain on US127, watch for a right angle turn onto US 27 which takes you over the river to Exit 1A. Take MLK east for two blocks to a right on Broad Street and it is straight several miles to the foot of Lookout Mountain.  At the foot there are two over head signs, the left directs you by the Incline Railway and to Rock City via Tennessee Ave and Ochs Hwy where there is a Lookout Mountain Parkway Sign. At the top of the highway you can turn left to Rock City or stay straight onto SR 157 then to GA 189 that leads on to Covenant College and nearly 100 miles of Lookout Mountain Parkway.

The other routes up the mountain follow the right overhead sign to Ruby Falls. This follows US11 around the foot of the mountain to left on SR 148 up the mountain, past Ruby Falls and on to where it becomes GA 189 and on to Covenant College and the Lookout Mountain Parkway. If you miss the SR148 turn at the foot, continue on US11 about a mile to SR318 and a Lookout Mountain Parkway Sign that leads up to SR148 and Ruby Falls.

Lookout Mountain Parkway Association feels everyone should have the easiest route to the Parkway and down to the valley, therefore we have listed the following "Gateways" to lead you there:
The Trenton “Gateway to the Parkway” is GA 136 East
The Lafayette “Gateway to the Parkway” is GA 136 West
The Valley Head “Gateway to the Parkway” is AL 117 East

The Summerville “Gateway to the Parkway” is GA 48 West
The Fort Payne “Gateway to the Parkway”  is AL 35 East
The Collinsville “Gateway to the Parkway”  is AL 68  East
The Centre AL  “Gateway to the Parkway” is US 411 & AL 68 West
The Gadsden “Gateway To the Parkway”  is AL 211 to Noccalula Falls & CR 89 North

*Note - The Gadsden to Chattanooga route is called the Lookout Mountain Parkway and will bear green signs that state this. Reader's Digest named the Parkway as one of America's most Scenic Drives.
